This document presents a Preliminary System Safety Analysis (PSSA) of four data items required by the controller access parameters (CAP) service, which are delivered by Mode S Enhanced Surveillance. The document has been produced by the EUROCONTROL Mode S Programme to support to the implementation of Mode S Enhanced Surveillance. The CAP information considered in the safety analysis are Magnetic Heading, Indicated Airspeed, Vertical Rate and Selected Altitude.
