On 12 February 2009, at night VMC, a Bombardier DHC-8-400 operated by Colgan Air, Inc., during an instrument approach to Buffalo-Niagara International Airport, Buffalo, New York., experienced a loss of control which subsequently led to impact with terrain in a residential area. The flight was operating under the provisions of 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 121.
