On 22 May 2020, an Airbus A320 made a deep landing on runway 25L at Karachi with the landing gear inadvertently retracted following an extremely high speed unstabilised approach. After initially continuing along the runway resting on both engines, it became airborne again with the crew announcing their intention to make another approach but both engines subsequently failed due to damage sustained and the aircraft crashed into a residential area. It was destroyed by the impact and post-crash fire with all but two of the 99 occupants killed. Four persons on the ground were injured with one subsequently dying.
