The FAA has developed this policy to provide guidance for conducting a propeller safety analysis. Although part 35 of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR part 35) does not explicitly require a safety analysis, safety analyses are frequently conducted to support the following: a. Section 35.15, Design features. b. Section 35.21, Reversible propellers. c. Section 35.23, Pitch control and indication. d. Section 21.16, Special conditions. e. Aircraft manufacturer certification requirements.
