Low Visibility Procedures refer to specific procedures applied at an aerodrome to support precision approach CAT II/III operations as well as departure operations in RVR conditions less than a value of 550 m specifically referred to as Low Visibility Departure Operations within this Guidance Material. In addition, the PANS-ATM (14th edition, applicable 1 November 2001) have introduced the requirement for procedures for low visibility operations whenever conditions are such that all or part of the manoeuvring area cannot be visually monitored from the control tower.
