The aim of this AIC is to improve the safety of helicopter operations by providing guidance to enable pilots to make more informed decisions regarding whether to fly. In particular, guidance is presented on the types of weather and visual reference conditions that should be considered appropriate to commit to fly with, given the handling characteristics of the helicopter and the pilots' own training and experience.
