Background
This safety enhancement reduces accidents caused by loss of pitot static systems by:
- Providing for visible tagging any time the pitot static system (pitot tubes and static ports) are covered during maintenance or servicing, including washing; and
- Ensuring preflight walk-around procedures include specific verification that pitot static ports are uncovered.
