Description

Westover Air Reserve Base is an Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) installation located between the Massachusetts communities of Chicopee and Ludlow, 10 km northeast of the central business district of the city of Springfield, Massachusetts.

Climatology

Humid “subtropical”/Continental climate (Köppen climate classification Cfa/Dfa) - characterized by hot, humid summers and cool/cold winters. Significant amounts of precipitation occur in all seasons in most areas. Winter rainfall (and snowfall) is associated with large storms that the westerlies steer from west to east. Most summer rainfall occurs during thunderstorms.
